Attorney Mauro Addresses Suffolk Academy of Law on ID Theft

On March 15th, Attorney Mauro addressed the Suffolk Academy of Law (the educational arm of the Suffolk County Bar Association) regarding private litigation of identity theft cases. Mauro addressed the Academy regarding litigation under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and state common law claims. Other panelists were: the Hon. Walter B. Tolub, NYS Supreme Court Justice (Daly v. Metropolitan Life Ins. Co., 4 Misc. 3d 887 [Sup. Ct. N.Y.City 2004]); Hon. Phillip S. Straniere, New York City Civil Court Judge (Kudelko v.
